At Neuxpower we’re always striving to improve, whether it’s making software or optimizing our ping pong backhand, we’re committed to progress. We are continually evolving our products and processes to exceed customer's needs. Our latest evolution is the second incarnation of our email optimization gateway; Optemail 2.0.
Optemail is a single piece of software that automatically captures emails before they hit the server, ensuring each one is condensed to its smallest possible size. Eliminating email bouncebacks while freeing up bandwidth and storage at the same time.
So, what’s new?
Our most popular file format just got better - in some cases 100% better. We've analyzed thousands upon thousands of PDF files to hone our reduction technology, delivering the most impressive PDF reduction experience you’ll find anywhere.
New File Formats
Video is the fastest growing form of shared media in the world. Having noticed this... we bring you automatic video transcoding! Optemail can now be configured to compress most video file formats, resulting in an average reduction of 50% with no discernible visual change. We also noticed it’s 2016 (unless you’re reading this far off in the future) so we thought it’d be a good idea to make support for Office 2016 bulletproof. Meaning that office files all the way from good old ‘97 right up to 2016 get rock solid compression every time with Optemail.
Plugging The Gaps
It can’t always be about boldly going where no developer has gone before, sometimes it’s about filling in the corners and really getting the most out of what you have. In 2.0 you’re able to Optimize internal mail as well as inbound and outbound mail, that means 100% of your emails will be effortlessly optimized. It’s not exciting but it’s definitely a significant enhancement.
We’ve made a lots of improvements to the UI! You can now enjoy interactive configuration buttons, the ability to create local or email reports, an improved responsive (real-time) optimization window, disk space monitoring and email server health checking. You’re very welcome ;)
Bugs - they're gone! We thankfully avoided any show stoppers in the 1.0 release. Aside from a some minor quality of life updates, a special mention should be made a compatibility issue with one user's specific Exchange configuration that resulted in all attachments being inadvertently optimized to .dat files. Fortunately for both of us, we knocked this bug off together in short order and it’s fixed in the new release - everyone’s happy!
Rounding out the details on what to get excited about in 2.0; TLS/SSL support now provides more configuration flexibility and if you want to configure DKIM signing in your environment, Optemail now has a built in SSL generation using OpenSSL. The only thing you need to do is click “Generate” and then follow a few simple instructions to add your new key to your DNS server.
